This selection of the work of Jaime Fierro, which is part of his personal collection, is the result of an extraordinary technique and discipline which developed a rich language with accentuated and dramatic tones.

Fierro painfully cast his eyes onto the world of humans, his rage and indignant oeuvre being testimony to human indifference. His is a profound, heartbreaking gaze over human suffering and a challenge to the human capacity to generate destruction, death throes and violence.

Jaime Fierro invites us to reflect on the indifference and the indolence present in our society, his work challenges the deterministic fatality of modern technology posing this vital question: have we all forgotten that we are made of the dust of time?

Disregarding his own suffering throughout his life, Jaime Fierro?s work represents profound interrogations about human nature and its deep elusive shadow - his work made of caprices as well as convictions.

The history of Jaime Fierro goes back to a small present given to him as a child by his mother Olga Durán - a book concerning watercolor techniques. He never dreamt that an insignificant edition of a technical manual was going to have such an impact on his life. For over three decades and thanks to his fertile imagination, Fierro could taste and enjoy these techniques that would eventually earn him the most prestigious awards, including the First Gold Medal at the ?Salón Nacional del Palacio de la Alhambra? (Chile 1987)

Years later, following a long transition period, Fierro would experience a radical change that in 1995 took him to develop his first warriors through which he begun to explore and scrutinize the faces and expressions of the indigenous natives of Latin America; they became clear examples of his search for his cultural roots as well as his search for the roots of the man - the artist.

The horrors surrounding men in our times are portrayed in Fierro?s oeuvre as he expects that the reality he depicts and his vision will inspire the spectator to look inside him or her and provoke an outburst.

Jaime Fierro?s journeys across a number of cities and towns left an unmistakable mark of his art and clear traces of his condemnation of social injustice. Creating new artistic values, while he proudly rescued Latin American culture, Fierro travelled and painted the world leaving behind a rich wealth, and the legacy of a truly precious heritage.
